In line with the Media Council of Kenya’s efforts to deploy technology in its operations to boost efficiency, the Council is urging suppliers of various goods and services to register on the E-Procurement Portal.
MCK acting Manager for Supply Chain Management Mildred Maina says the system will aid in increasing effectiveness by reducing resources required for processing orders and invoices.
“The portal will enhance collaboration, enable better communication and facilitate document sharing through centralised operations to improve performance”, she said during a sensitisation forum for the Council’s suppliers in Nairobi.
She highlighted the portal’s scalability and flexibility to meet growing procurement needs with digital records of transactions.
MCK Manager for ICT Simon Njuguna urged suppliers to register on the portal through the MCK website for streamlined and automated procurement workflows, while lauding achievements.
“The portal has improved procurement efficiency and competitiveness. We have experienced better management of supply chain disruptions and uncertainties”, he said.
ERP Consultant Joanes Omondi added that the system has enabled suppliers to remain updated on tender-related information without the need for physical visits to the Council’s offices.
“The system has not only reduced administrative costs and manual error but also boosted efficiency and has provided improved communication and coordination”, he noted.
