Media Council of Kenya (MCK) values the privacy of personal information. This Privacy Notice sets out how MCK collects, processes, transfers, and stores information, including personal data, while executing its mandate in accordance with the Media Council Act, 2013. MCK collects, uses, discloses, transfers, and handles personal data in accordance with the Data Protection Act and the regulations therein. MCK is committed to protecting your privacy and developing technology that gives you the most powerful and safe online experience. This Statement of Privacy applies to the MCK’s website and affiliated portals. By using the MCK website and affiliated portals, you consent to the data practices described in this statement.

What information does MCK process?
MCK collects personal data on various processes including; recruitment and selection, procurement of goods and services, accreditation, status of the media, training, journalism awards, grants, stakeholder engagement advocacy protection of journalists and complaints.
Collection of your Personal Information
MCK collects personal identifiable information, such as your e-mail address and name MCK also collects anonymous demographic information, which is not unique to you.
There is also information about your computer hardware and software that is automatically collected by MCK. This information can include: your IP address, browser type, domain names, access times and referring Web site addresses. This information is used by MCK for the operation of the service, to maintain quality of the service, and to provide general statistics regarding use of the MCK Web site and affiliated portals.
Please keep in mind that if you directly disclose personally identifiable information or personally sensitive data through MCK public message boards, this information may be collected and used by others. Note: MCK does not read any of your private online communications.
