The Media Council of Kenya (MCK) has pointed out the significance of working closely with independent content creators to bolster their expertise and adaptability to the evolving media landscape.
MCK Kisumu Regional Coordinator Evans Teddy asked the journalist to maintain integrity while operating within the boundaries of the code of conduct for journalists to uphold ethical reporting.
“The changing media space has created a shift resulting in diverse audience needs. You must produce content that is ethical and one that resonates with audiences across various platforms”, said Teddy during a meeting with independent content creators.
He maintained the need for the creation of content that aims to enhance the digital ecosystem while at the same time aligning with the needs of the local audience.
“The content creation process presents both opportunities for creativity and a set of challenges. Through collaboration, content creators can develop interventions that harness the potential of the digital space”, remarked Mr Teddy.
MCK Supervisor, Research and Media Monitoring Abraham Kisang inferred that content creation is not solely glitz and glamour. He noted that content creators will have the advantage of being exposed to a wider range of skills enabling them to produce high-quality content leading to monetisation.
