Suppliers have been urged to register on the Procurement Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system to boost efficiency and enhance collaboration.

Speaking at a meeting that brought suppliers together, the Media Council of Kenya (MCK) Officer for Supply Chain Management Bonventure Wanzala said the system seeks to streamline the procurement process and keep track of inventory.

“The ERP System will integrate all the operational activities into one centralised platform and manage the procurement process effectively”, said Mr Wanzala.

Mr Wanzala noted that the system is user friendly and can be accessed through the phone, adding that it will significantly improve productivity.

ERP Consultant Joanes Omondi mentioned that the system will enable suppliers to remain updated on tender-related information without having to physically visit MCK offices.

"The process is transparent as your application documents are stored in the system. If you do not qualify for a tender, you will receive a notification outlining the precise reasons for your missed opportunity", added Mr Omondi.

He further said that the system will enhance significant improvements in productivity by reducing costs associated with manual work which can be labour intensive and paper-based tracking methods.

“The system will not only boost efficiency but also increase accuracy and provide improved communication and coordination”, said Mr Omondi.

Suppliers were informed that the E-Procurement Portal is accessible through the MCK Website, and that data had already been transferred from the old system to the new ERP.
