The Media Council of Kenya (MCK) is conducting a comprehensive review of data collection tools for the upcoming Annual State of the Media Report.
MCK Director for Media Training and Development Victor Bwire emphasised to stakeholders drawn from the media and academia the importance of stakeholder engagement in the assessment process.
"Let's work together to ensure our media landscape is accurately represented in this year's report and ensure that the data collected reflects the reality of our diverse media environment", said Mr Bwire at the meeting held in Nairobi today.
MCK Manager for Research, Planning and Strategy Leo Mutisya shed light on the objectives of the review process.
"Let's strive for a comprehensive report that informs policy and legislative decisions in the media sector. Your insights are invaluable. The media landscape is evolving, and so is our approach to assessment", he said.
The Council undertakes an annual survey to determine media performance, including public perception of the media, in line with its media regulation mandate.
