The Media Council of Kenya (MCK) has urged journalists to sharpen their knowledge, skills, and analytical capabilities to deliver accurate, insightful and ethical reporting on housing and settlement issues.

MCK’s Director for Media Training and Development Victor Bwire emphasised the importance of this focus, noting its direct relevance to public interest.

He stressed the need for accountability and transparency, encouraging journalists to adopt solution-based and constructive approaches when covering housing-related topics.

Christine Nguku, MCK’s Assistant Director for Training and Curriculum Development, reaffirmed the Council’s dedication to capacity-building initiatives aimed at strengthening journalists’ expertise in this field.

“Journalism plays a vital role in advocating for quality housing,” she noted.

The session underscored MCK’s commitment to advancing professional excellence in journalism, marking a key step in bolstering media capacity to address housing and settlement challenges across Kenya.
