The Council undertakes researches on various themes in the media and communication fields to establish the status of the media in Kenya. These focus on major trends in the media in the country including audience characteristics, content quality, and ownership and policy developments. In addition, the studies cover other emerging trends in the sector including national and regional issues. So far, studies have been done on the status of the media in Kenya (2009-2011), safety and protection of journalists in Kenya, media and the 2013 General Election in Kenya, training needs and working conditions of journalists working in Kenya and the Media We Want in Kenya Now.
